On Choosing Books for Children
As we work to honor God in educating our children, one of the perennial questions/conversations I hear is about choosing good books for children to read. There are hundreds of lists, many of them very similar. What is more important than lists, however, is cultivating the ability to determine a book's worth for yourself. More important still is passing on that discernment to our children. Monica Sharman has written down some useful guidelines for the daunting task of choosing good books. As you read with your children, ask them some questions about what makes a current book "good."You can download Mrs. Sharman's remarks from her blog, "Know-Love-Obey God."
